Atlas Volunteers’ offer low cost and meaningful programs all whilst providing an award winning level of support. Our program fees are lowest in Ghana as we focus on running as a truly grassroots organisation on the ground.

Volunteers pay a one-off Registration Fee to join their chosen volunteer program. This covers all your pre-departure support, handbook and any pre-arrival queries you may have.

The program fees always cover the core of your program such as accommodation. Most of our programs operate on a sliding scale, so the longer you stay – the cheaper the weekly fee becomes.

Program Fees FAQ

Registration Fee covers: Atlas membership for 1 year, predeparture support, volunteer handbook & fundraising advice.
After submitting your application, a member of our support team will contact you by email within 24 to 48 hours to inform you whether your application has been accepted or if we require further details.
Once the application has been accepted we ask you to secure your trip with a payment of $50 (It is non-refundable if you choose not to go). 
If for any reason in the unlikely event that we are required to cancel your trip, we will refund your $50 payment if you would prefer to not reschedule.
Once we receive your registation fee, we shall send you your welcome pack via email which will provide more information on how to prepare for your trip.
The remaining balance of your program fees is due no later than 3 months before your arrival, you are able to pay via card by requesting an invoice or a direct bank transfer with the details below.

  • Cancellation after acceptance and prior to placement confirmation – the deposit is forfeited.
    (After paying deposit – before completing confirmation form and securing your space.)
  • Cancellation after confirmation of placement – 50% of the program fee is forfeited.
    (After paying program fees – upto 3 months before planned arrival date.)
  • No Show or Early Departure from Program – 100% of the program fee is forfeited.
    (From 3 months before planned arrival date)

Hosting volunteers comes with a substantial price tag. There are base costs such as accommodation rent, utility bills, in country charges & systems, general upkeep, bedding, maintenance, orientations, logistics and support staff that all play a part. As well as the international side of online systems, websites, partnerships, marketing, registration costs, support staff and bank charges to take into account.
