Low Cost, Meaningful Volunteer Placements in Ghana, Thailand & Cambodia

WELCOME TO ATLAS VOLUNTEERS

get in touch with us

After years of volunteering and working alongside other volunteer organisations we decided that we wanted to setup a group with a difference, to reduce the cost burden and open it up to helpers across the globe with affordable and meaningful volunteering. Truly created by volunteers, for volunteers.
We offer programs in Education, Community Development, Conservation and Environmental primarily. Our aim is to offer meaningful placements which have a direct impact whilst working directly with the local community.
We’re not here to try change the world in one day or one trip, but if you are willing to help us on our journey, one step at a time to bring development to the area we fell in love with, then please do have a look at our programs and we look forward to seeing you on site!

Where will I be staying?

Our Abetifi program volunteers are based in Aduamoah and Pepease at our large shared accommodation with large outside communal areas for group activities and games.
Our Sea Turtle Conservation volunteers are based in the Western Region in a small house in the Cape Three Points & Akwidaa coastal area with views of the Atlantic Ocean and beach on your doorstep.

Both houses are provided with shared bedrooms and bunk beds. Our accommodations benefit from full kitchens for your self catered stay as well as communal areas for your relaxation and downtime.

Why choose Ghana?

Often referred to as Africa for beginners, it’s easy to see why. Ghana offers a vibrant culture, friendly people and amazing sightseeing opportunities. We are based around Abetifi which is a semi rural district a few hours drive from Accra. It offers the perfect balance for our volunteers by prodividing a safe and friendly environment, large local towns for easy shopping, banking and free time activities whilst also offering an easy platform to reach the remote villages for placements which are just a short journey away along tracks out into the bush!

When can I join?

We offer our placements throughout the year and have volunteers with us all year round. We do have a minimum duration on all of our projects to maintain our promise for meaningful volunteering placements.

For Education placements where your support is needed in the schools, we require a four week minimum stay to ensure that there is a high social impact for both the community and our volunteers.

For volunteers that are looking to help with a shorter duration, we also offer projects from 1 week onwards where you can help out in renovation, painting, sports academy, eco projects and more.
