β³ Extension, Overstays & Multiple Entries
Extend your stay under the Thailand visa exemption
You can apply for an additional 30-day extension at any local immigration office, bringing your total stay up to 90 days. Extensions are not guaranteed β approval depends on the immigration officer and your reason for staying longer.
Overstay Penalties
If you stay beyond your authorized period, you risk:
- A fine of 500 THB per day
- Deportation and possible entry bans
β Always apply for an extension or leave before your stay expires.
Multiple Entries & βBorder Runsβ
You can re-enter Thailand multiple times by air, but land border crossings have annual limits. Frequent βborder runsβ can raise red flags with immigration.
π» Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)
From 1 May 2025, travelers must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) at least 3 days before arrival.
This new system replaces the old paper TM6 form and helps immigration pre-screen visitors.
π§Ύ Steps to complete your TDAC:
- Visit the official Thailand Immigration Bureau website (avoid third-party sites!).
- Enter your personal, passport, and trip details.
- Declare your health and travel history.
- Save or print the confirmation QR code to show at the airport.
β οΈ Warning: Fake TDAC websites exist. Only use the official government site.
