Program Overview

About the Program

This is more than just a volunteer opportunity, itโ€™s your chance to experience the real Thailand. Our camp is located in Isaan, the cultural heart of the country, far from the tourist trails and big cities. Here, youโ€™ll discover a side of Thailand that few travelers ever get to seeย  one filled with warmth, tradition, and genuine community spirit.

In Isaan, people still live close to the land, with strong family values and a deep sense of hospitality. Youโ€™ll be welcomed not just as a guest, but as part of the family. Youโ€™ll eat local food, hear the language and music of this unique region, and join in the rhythms of daily village life.

At the same time, your work here makes a real impact. By helping kids speak English, youโ€™re giving them new opportunities for their future. But itโ€™s not just about teaching, itโ€™s about sharing, learning, and building unforgettable friendships.

Youโ€™ll also take part in cultural activities like Thai cooking, traditional dance, muay thai training, visits to temples and markets, and even learning the basics of the Thai language. This placement is a true cultural exchange, an adventure of the heart, mind, and soul.

If you’re looking for an authentic, meaningful way to connect with Thailand and make a difference, this is it.

Why this program?

This program began with a former English teacher at Nachueak Pittayasan School at Mahasarakham province. Concerned about the limited opportunities in her region, she started this project with one clear goal: to offer free, quality English education to children in rural communities so they can have better chances in life. Each year, we continue to improve, expand, and strengthen our mission, to help more kids and create meaningful cultural exchange experiences for people from all over the world. We work with children from kindergarten to secondary school and provide full materials and guidance to volunteers throughout their stay.ย
ย
At the same time, the camp is more than just a teaching project, we want our volunteers to truly understand and connect with Thai culture. Thatโ€™s why we organize weekly activities such as: Thai language classes, cooking classes, traditional dance, visits to temples with cultural explanations, introductory sessions about local customs, Buddhism, meditation as well as Muay Thai sessions.ย

We split our English language efforts across two areas. Firstly we support English lessons within the local school, supporting English classes with materials, new ideas and tutoring man power to provide quality Educatioon to the children in the surrouding rural communities. Secondly at the camp, we run our own English camp classes where local youth can attend for additional English support and guidance.ย
With so much of Thailand’s economy growth due to tourism, it’s crucial for Thai youth to grasp an early understanding and strong foundations of English to ensure as many doors of opportunities are open to them in life – unrestricted by rural or financial circumstances.ย

What will I be doing?

You will support local English language efforts by providing a teaching & tutoring role to our students. Your day will mostly be split across two parts, morning shift will be assisting in local public schools and afternoon shifts will be running language classes on site at the camp:

  • Morning sessions (9:00 AM โ€“ 12:00 PM) take place in local public schools, we go to a different school everyday, where weโ€™ve built strong relationships with staff and students.
  • Afternoon sessions (4:00 PM โ€“ 5:30 PM) are held on site at the camp, using creative and interactive methods like games, theater, music, and sports to help kids learn English in a fun environment.
We work with children from kindergarten to secondary school and provide full materials and guidance to volunteers throughout their stay.ย
ย

You will work alongside your fellow volunteer colleagues and our local on site support team. • Comfortable clothes for hot weather.
Weโ€™ll provide you with a uniform for teaching, and thereโ€™s laundry service available, so no need to bring too many clothes.

  • Swimsuit โ€“ donโ€™t forget it! Youโ€™ll want it for the pool.

  • Closed shoes and flip-flops โ€“ flip-flops are super helpful, as we take off shoes when entering rooms and common areas.

Typical working day

From Monday to Thursday, volunteers take part in two teaching sessions each day:

  • Morning sessions (9:00 AM โ€“ 12:00 PM) take place at different local public schools each day, where weโ€™ve built strong, long-term relationships with the staff and students.

  • Afternoon sessions (4:00 PM โ€“ 5:30 PM) are held at the camp, where we use fun and interactive methods like games, theater, music, and sports to help kids learn English in a playful and engaging way.

We work with children from kindergarten to secondary school, and volunteers are fully supported with materials, guidance, and lesson ideas throughout their stay.

Fridays are a day off from teaching โ€” a perfect opportunity to relax or join our excursions to explore local attractions and hidden gems in the area.

On Saturdays and Sundays, we host a light morning activity or class with the local kids from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, leaving the rest of the weekend free to enjoy.

    ~ NAME / Thailand Education Volunteer – 2025

Honestly; this was an amazing experience. I highly reccomend. I will never forget my time at the school with all the lovely children, & I actually learned a lot too! The camp itself is great and the activities volunteers get the opportunity to take part are so fun and unique to Thai culture. I took part in Thai dance, cooking and language classes, visited some local temples and got to take part in the Songkran festivities (Thai New Year) which was amazing! The staff and children at the camp are all really warm, welcoming and I genuinely felt at home there.
